After the market tour and picking up a few sweets, we had a long ride through Hoi An’s vegetable villages where all the fresh produce for the area is grown and harvested. Surrounded by rice fields, luscious trees, swaps and fishing villages the ride was breathtakingly beautiful and the sunshine was wonderful!

Trees on trucks, bikes, families on one motorbike, entire drink orders on the backs of bicycles… This type of stuff is becoming normal now…

I have taken so well to the Vietnamese locals, they’ve all been rude and sly but these ladies were all so lovely. They told our guide that we were all so beautiful and mesmerised over our delicate ‘white’ skin. We were also the only tourists to probably venture here all that often, so we were a bit like celebrities.

In Cambodia, women were literally standing on the street and offering up their half naked babies for people to be in awe over and hold. This is the first Vietnamese baby which i have seen to show any interest and where the mothers were happily enjoying us playing with the cutie pie. I took these photos and showed the boy and his grin grew so big when he could see himself on the screen.

Here, with the help of our local guide we sampled and purchased local delights, things that usually we wouldn’t know or be game to touch. Fish cakes, insects, sweet bean dishes, sticky rice in banana leaf and some peanut rice brittle.
