The view of our island from the top of the mountain and looking back over Cat Ba and Ha Long Bay. We did a very short but steep climb up a mountain to witness these panoramic masterpieces.

After an amazing breakfast (might I add, the food on this cruise, every meal without a doubt was a feast and a half of delicious foods that just kept coming and coming, so we definitely got our value for money) we got a small boat, a bus and another small boat through Cat Ba Islands and around the cove and around these bend we were greeted with this view of Monkey Island which was were we would be spending the day and sleeping the night. My jaw was at the floor and we got the only sunny day within the last week and there was not a cloud to be seen for the entire day.

We all decided after a quiet night of learning new card games, gin and tonics and much needed catching up of sleep that we should take advantage of being able to say we watched the sunrise over Ha Long Bay. Though it wasn’t the clearest of mornings, it shaped up the be a spectacular day following.

I actually goPro’ed most of the cruise as well, and the kayaking especially. So here are the floating villages which we docked at to pick up our kayaks, from here we kayaked to so,e insanely amazing open aired caves of which one was used in one of the James Bond films. These villages are dotted throughout the bay as well.

The view from my bedroom cabin (which might I add had air conditioning AND flushing toilets and nice showers) and the views we were surrounded by whilst eating meals.
